GEObject
Introduction to the program
GEObject is an interactive learning environment for
Euclidean Geometry.
It lets you build geometric objects by construction, adopting a
compass-and-ruler paradigm and it provides the user with an area for building
and manipulating geometrical objects, to test known theorems
and construction-methods, and to discover new ones, with the try and
learn paradigm.
Constructions can be modified applying geometrical transformations in the
graphical direct manipulation interface,
that is user-friendly and easy to learn.
The constraints, imposed on the figure during the construction, are
preserved.
The system is object-oriented and allows
construction of geometrical objects of preexistent geometrical classes (such
as lines, triangles and so on) or to create new classes, thanks to the
built-in geometry knowledge base and the peculiarity of the program.
Users can add their constructions to the program code, both as
new geometrical classes of objects
and as new functions to be
applied to existing objects.
It's possible to use the program, downloading it
or with a remote call.
