I am currently Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science , University of Milan. My research and teaching activities cover prescriptive data analytics, mathematical programming and design and experimental analysis of algorithms for combinatorial optimization problems. A list of my publications can be found in AIR (manually updated) or Scholar (automatically updated).

I have got my M.Sc. Degree in 2002; my thesis has been awarded the Camerini Carraresi prize by the Italian O.R. Society. I have received my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2006. Before joining University of Milan, I have been appointed as visiting fellow in the "Marie Curie" training network "Combinatorics Geometry and Computation" at the Technical University of Berlin (2005) and as postdoc at Politecnico di Milano (2006). I have also been a CNRS "poste rouge" visiting researcher at Univ. Paris XIII (2009). I care spending at least one month per year doing research abroad: my most recent research visits include Univ. Paris 13 - UPMC Paris 6 - LORIA Nancy (September 2015), INRIA Sophia Antipolis (June - July 2016) and GERAD - Polytechnique Montreal (June - July 2017). Since March 2018 I hold the Italian national qualification for full professorship in Operations Research, and since December 2020 that for full professorship in Computer Science.
