Logistics

The Logistics course addresses the illustration of the supply chain and the main quantitative methods to tackle the related decision and optimization problems. In particular the course considers inventory management problems and methods, it illustrates the main simulation techniques (with the aid of suitable software), it presents some basic models in queuing theory and it discusses the mathematical formulation of  optimizazion problems in logistics (location, routing, scheduling,...).

The course takes 48 hours of lectures and lab sessions.

The exam consists of solving some exercises at the PC and, possibly, by their oral discussion.
